2-Hour Season Premiere Sunday Oct 21 7/6c on ABC
Ames proudly donated over 180 tools to a recent Extreme Makeover: Home Edition in Etters, PA that benefited the Keefer family. From demolition hammers, scoops, and bars to shovels and wheelbarrows, we made sure the building crews had all the tools they needed to get the job done fast! Incredibly, the entire project was completed in one short week (June 19-25). And, since no new shed should go empty, we also donated a full complement of brand new lawn and garden tools (from spades and rakes to watering tools to snow tools -- and even the hangers to mount them) for the family. Community Garden
When we help something grow, we grow ourselves. The Ames Community Garden offers people in the Capital Region a place to grow and express themselves through gardening.
Our goal is to grow the love of gardening through:
• Preparing a place in our community where people of all ages can put down roots
• Spreading the opportunity for people in our community to have a place to garden
• Tending to the need for gardening education in our community
• Harvesting a bounty of fresh, nutritious foods for individuals, families and organizations in the area

Ames Charitable Foundation Golf Tournament
The Ames Charitable Foundation sponsors an annual golf tournament, now going into its 17th year, for the purpose of raising funds in support of various charitable organizations that operate throughout the central Pennsylvania area and in other geographical areas where our facilities are located. Through the generous support of our business partners, associates and friends, we are influencing many lives of those less fortunate.

Take Pride in America
Ames donated 240 pruning loppers under the US Department of the Interior’s “Take Pride In America” program to help rid Fort AP Hill of the invasive Autumn Olive plant. The Boy Scouts of America provided the muscle to attack this problem during their annual national Jamboree in August 2010. 286 scouts put in almost 600 hours of labor to fight back this silent invader affecting the Nation’s public lands.

Hershey Gardens
Ames partnered with Hershey Gardens in 2010 for The Great Garden Adventure, a new program which is geared to visitors ages 4-11, and features a fun and challenging guide which contains clues and hints to help kids solve mysteries throughout The Children’s Garden.
Each successful Adventurer receives a sturdy, child-sized gardening tool made by Ames®.

Remember Me Rose Garden
Ames is a proud partner of the Remember Me Rose Garden organization. “Remember Me” Rose Garden is a Living Tribute, meant to affirm life and to honor the memory of those who died in the attacks against America on September 11, 2001. “Remember Me” Rose Gardens will be created on or near each of the three sites. Ames provided tools for the groundbreaking and planting of the Shanksville, PA rose garden, and also sent tools to support three school gardens in the Washington DC area for schools who lost students in the Pentagon tragedy.
